Classics Revisited Series.

Savinenapugalu Beku Saviyalee Baduku....
How true are these lyrics from a Kannada movie which says memories are required to enjoy the life....

Here I will put forward some memories of some of the classic movies in Kannada and Hindi which I have started to watch. The movies which I have started to watch were the best in their time and genre. So whatever I would write would be like paying tribute all the people who were a part of the movie in any respect. Also it would be like thanking the maestros who gave us such movies the memoirs which we can cherish forever.... Hence I name the series "Classics Revisited....."

Please let me know your views/inputs regarding this.

Will do the writeups during the weekends for any movie which I watch. Please do leave comments about the movie or the writeup or anything which you feel like sharing.....

1. Khamoshi - The Musical (1996)
2. Khel Khel Mein (1975)

[Starting off with these two hindi movies... will add more to the list and also Kannada movies]

"Savinenapugalu" -- beke beku!

I am always in for anything that makes each one of us nostalgic and builds a very strong urge to go back to those days and enjoy every moment of it unconditionally.

Among the Kannada Movies section, something that I always talk about more often is "Edakallu Guddada Mele". Two words which summarizes the movie is its 'directorial brilliance'. This was a time when everything which flowed out of pure human instincts were considered to be a taboo. His highness Puttana Kanagal broke those barriers of making a movie which was supposed to be universally acceptable and came out successfully with a masterpiece.
Hats off to an amazing performance by Jayanthi who handled the character, a tough one though, without a glitch!

Just speaking about this has pushed me to list out all that i wanted to talk about. But given a chance to speak about our very own Kannada Movies, I am sure the list continues to grow without even giving a subtle hint to stop.. it simply refuses to cease.

"Minchina Ota" another pick from the most loved Kannada Movies. A groups of friends while discussing this unanimously voted it as 'well-made'. The climax of the movie is what i believe as an excellent lesson to all those people working hard to keep up their quality of perseverance. Needless to mention are the spirited performances from the 'Nag Brothers' and Loknath was simply outstanding!

I shall discuss more about my favourite movies in my subsequent blogs..

Khamoshi, One of the initial interventions of Sanjay Leela Bansali after he became an independant director and after working with people like Vidhu Vinod Chopra.
I think, the music is composed by Dileep Sen Sameer Sen or Jatin Lalit. The songs are fantastic which clearly shows that whoever may be the music director, it entirely depends on the captain of the ship, in this case Sanjay Leela Bansali. Share with me if you have anything in this context. I will soon come up with my thoughts on Khel Khel Mein, the Rishi Neetu starrer, where RD Burman created wonders with his music.
